Utah is in the West of the USA. It is a land-based state and has the Great Salt Lake to the North of the region. Salt Lake City is the capital city of Utah and is close to the great lake itself. The South of the state has spectacular scenery including canyons, rock formations and sweeping valleys. A number of National Parks have been formed to protect the area. The Zion National Park is the most prominent National Park in the state and is home to Angels Landing and The Narrows. Arches National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park and Canyonlands National Park are other well-visited parks in Utah.
